Who We Are
Bruce Gordon
2016 - Gordon reporting from the Democratic National Convention, Philadelphia.
We know what you’re thinking: “Just what we need, another former reporter who now fancies himself a consultant.” We get it. Here’s why we’re different.
Bruce Gordon spent 25 years as one of the pre-eminent storytellers in the nation’s 4th largest television market, winning ten Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards, including twice being named Best Reporter. In addition, he’s been honored by the Associated Press in multiple TV markets, by the Missouri Public Interest Research Group (while reporting in St. Louis) and received the Odyssey Institute’s award for excellence in reporting the concerns of children (while working in Austin, TX). A sample of Bruce’s stories over the years can be found on his YouTube channel here.
Bruce was his television station’s go-to reporter for virtually every major story impacting the Philadelphia region over the past quarter century, including the death of Pope John Paul II, the visit by Pope Francis, numerous national political conventions, the Jerry Sandusky Penn State scandal and prosecution, both Bill Cosby sex assault trials, the fatal Amtrak train crash and countless other headline-grabbers in which news executives had to choose which reporter to carry their coverage. Read coverage of his career and retirement here and here.
He made the decision to retire from daily news reporting, because, as a student of the industry, he wanted to share his insights with those who could benefit from learning how to get their message to a broader audience.
Bruce guest lectures on the subject of journalism and its intersection with public life. He has spoken at numerous colleges and universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University and Arcadia University.
